Young-At-Hearts Elects New Officers
By Nicholas | January 28, 2008
Soon after returning to Belmont, following a few years of residency in Clemson, S.C., Cathy and Charlie Boyd became active in Young-At-Hearts. It didn’t take long for everyone to recognize Charlie is a “Grill Master” and Cathy is an “All-Around Cook”. They also became recruiters, attracting many senior parishioners to QOA’s group.
When new officers were elected at the January meeting, it was easy to see Charlie and Cathy as our new co-chairmen. Charlie, who retired after 32 years as an engineer at Duke Energy, and Cathy, who retired after a successful teaching career in early childhood, have two children, Melissa and Steven. Melissa is following in her mother’s footsteps as a teacher at South Point High and Steven, like his engineering dad, is working on his PhD in electrical engineering at Clemson.
Elizabeth Atterberry, long-time an active parishioner, was elected as Secretary-Treasurer.
We are sure that Young-At-Hearts will grow and continue to attract more parishioners. Young-At-Hearts invite any senior to join us at our monthly covered-dish luncheon. We meet the second Sunday each month in the MAK Center after the 11 AM mass. No invitation is necessary. Just come and enjoy the food and company. Our next meeting is February 10th. Future dates are: March 8th, April 12th, May 10th and June 14th.
