BEING GOOD STEWARDS OF GOD’S CREATION – “BE ENERGY WISE” MEETING, APRIL 21st

By Peter Liberatore

Peter Liberatore, George Burazer and Patricia Vasil, of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church joined 65 other participants from 11 diocesan parishes at a meeting promoting “Parishes & Parishioners Energized! Switching on the Call to be Faithful Stewards of Creation, Switching Off Excess and Wasted Energy” on Saturday, March 13 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Charlotte.

The event offered presentations on Catholic Social Teaching and Franciscan spirituality on the care of creation, as well as tips and tools for parishes to be better stewards of their energy resources.

A follow-up planning meeting will be held at Queen of Apostles Church on Wednesday, April 21 from 7-8:30 PM in the MAK Center.

This meeting will focus on how we, as Catholics, can examine our responsibility to be good stewards of creation. “Be Energy Wise: Lighten Your Carbon Footprint” is a meeting that will provide an educational forum with a question and answer session with Duke Energy representatives with the goal of looking more closely at energy issues that affect our health, our finances, our region, and our world.

Attendance at the event is free. Please contact Patricia Vasil, Chair of Community Ministries at Queen of Apostles for more information: pavasil44@att.net.
