Instead of Epiphany candy, I got a new computer. In checking it out, I googled you, and came up with your parish website and got to hear your sermon for today. It reminds me of all the times I got to hear your preaching in person at St. Eugene. It also gives me the chance to thank you for all the wisdom you imparted and continue to impart in your homilies, your presence and your example. I hope some day to come to Belmont to see you again. Meanwhile, I now know how to reach you through this website. Have a wonderful year, Fr. Frank, Tom

I have tried multiple times to locate the bulletin and this is the section that I keep coming to. This isn't the first time that I have had difficulty even locating the bulletin. As the homepage comes up, I see the headings, then down to the Parish registration on the left and top of "Mission Statement" on the right. Above that is the "Recent News" with the Weekly Bulletin listed, but when this link is clicked, it comes to these comments instead of the bulletin. Trying to click again, gets me nothing other than these boxes again for comments. To locate the bulletin - with the link where it actually opens, would be helpful. I quit for today (December 13) because nothing would open to the actual bulletin. This is more frustrating than anything else and I won't continue to come to the website when I can't find what I am looking for with ease. (Both under the "information" heading and the "recent news" heading links for weekly bulletin only got me to these comments instead of directly opening to a bulletin, which I never found for today.)

Father Frank,
Hi from Dianne at Annunciation in Albemarle. After listening to your homily of All Saints, I smiled very warmly. It was soo good to hear your voice. You had your golden slippers on the very first homily you delivered for us and I remember the big shoes vividly. You are one of the most meaningful pastors we have ever had. Lloyd and I have 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter thanks to the many blessings of Our Lord. We are well and I hope the same for you.

Hi Father Frank,
I was talking with Judy the other day and she told me about your church web site. I was just poking around it and found your Homily! I had to listen of course, and I was taken back, back to Asheville. When I went to Mass this past Sunday I was trying to " GET IT " and I left kind of in a fog?? not sure actually what Father was trying to say. Of course after hearing you the light bulb went on. My God I miss your Homilies. You have such a gift to make things so clear.
I sure hope the people of your Parish appreciate how lucky they are to have you.
Believe me I will be listening every week now that I know where to hear you
God Bless and Big Hugs,
Mary

Wow Frankie! Loved the way you ended tying it back to music "playing not just in our hearts but the hearts and lives of others". A great analogy for taking faith to the next level. I know people who I believe confuse passion for suffering and thought it was interesting the way you spoke of that. I feel bad when I see people "follow the rules and deprive themselves" but not reap the best rewards of doing so. I enjoyed this during a quiet moment today!

Once again we attended Mass at The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi in Raleigh on August 2. It was the weekend for the annual financial report and thus we did not get much of a Homily. The priest commented briefly on the many people following Jesus who had had their physical hunger fulfilled and wanted this to continue and that is why they followed him. Jesus tried to make them understand otherwise.

Once again, Father Frank, your homily was one full of explanation, history and a pray for us to have a better understanding of what we as Christians, in our Catholic community, are all about.

p.s. Don't just pick on those in the back; there are those who sit in the first three rows that abscond right out the door from the reception of Holy Communion.

What a pleasure it is to be able to access Fr. Frank's homilies online. My husband and I were parishioners of St. Eugene in Asheville during his tenure there. After a few years without his homilies, it is a joy to hear them again! Thank you for posting them here.
