Our Diocese requires two consecutive years of religious education or attending a Catholic school to participate in the sacrament programs.  Our sacrament programs are in addition to our religious education Family Faith Formation program.  A child is eligible to register for the sacrament programs if they are currently in their second year of religious education. ​

​First Reconciliation is the first part of our First Sacraments program which precedes our First Eucharist preparation program.  One must make their First Reconciliation before entering the First Eucharist preparation program.  Below is our First Sacrament preparation program for the 2026-2027 year.

FIRST RECONCILIATION

This preparation program will include a mandatory parent meeting and two parent/child meetings in the MAK Family Life Center.  A child is eligible to be in the First Sacraments Program if they are at least in 2nd grade.  Registration will take place in person at the mandatory parent meeting. 

• REGISTRATION - Mandatory Parent Meeting (for parents only) – Thursday, November 2, 6:30 pm, MAK Family Life Center

• First Meeting – Saturday, January 9 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm

• Second Meeting – Saturday, January 30th from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm

• Reconciliation Service – Tuesday, February 9 at 6:30

FIRST EUCHARIST

This preparation will take place with three parent/child meetings in the MAK Family Life Center. 

• First Meeting – Saturday, March 20 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm

• Second Meeting – Saturday, April 17 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm

• Third Meeting – Saturday, May 1 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm

• First Eucharist Mass on Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 am

Please Note:
A copy of your child’s Baptismal record from the church in which your child was baptized is due by February 15, 2025.

You must call the church of Baptism if your child was not baptized at Queen of the Apostles Church.  The church of Baptism is the place in which all sacraments are recorded for an individual.  This copy must be dated within 6 months of receiving a sacrament, so the original Baptismal Certificate cannot be used. Please have the church of Baptism send a copy with their church seal to our church office: Queen of the Apostles Church, 503 N. Main Street, Belmont, NC 28012.
