Children & Youth Ministry

KidZone

KIdZone is now open for families of our parish! This is a faith-based ministry offered for the youngest members of our church ages 6 months to 3 years of age during the 9:15 am and 11:15 am Masses each Sunday. It is a time for young children to grow in their faith and relationship with God. KidZone is located off the Gathering Space in the church. Just look for the KidZone sign. Someone will be available to assist you at the KidZone computer station. For your convenience, you may even log onto our web-based check-in system called KidCheck to pre-register. Just go online to kidcheck.com and Sign-Up as a parent or guardian. You can then login and set-up your information. KidZone is being supervised by paid adults. Children's Choir

Do your little ones love to sing along during Mass? Why not have them join the Children’s Choir? For children from Kindergarten through 5th grade, this ministry helps them to learn how to sing, be a participant in weekly liturgy, and foster friendships in a fun and enriching setting.

Children’s Choir sings at special liturgies such as the Christmas Masses and First Communion, as well as the annual Christmas Cantata. The choir meets on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 5:15–5:45 in KidZone.

Dino Soccer

What better way to build family fellowship than offering some of our youngest members the chance to learn soccer skills here at the parish? The program meets in the spring and the fall here on the parish campus on Tuesday evenings. it is designed for our 3 to 6 year olds. If your kids are older or you don't have kids, come out for the fun and watch the little ones gain skills and confidence as they learn to play soccer here in their parish family. Contact Anthony in the parish office by email if you're interested in coaching or have children who want to get involved.

MOMS: Ministry of Mothers Sharing

This ministry is designed for moms of children of all ages. Ministry of Mothers Sharing meets twice a month. it is a time for fellowship and study for spiritual growth. While moms met and discuss, the children play in KidZone with adult supervision. Please call Cris Forero (704.726.3163) or Jennifer Miller (email) if you have an interest in attending.

Daisy / Girl Scouts

The Girl Scouts are committed to helping girls develop leadership skills through volunteering and serving others, and they increased skills by experiencing a variety of activities while earning badges in a number of disciplines. The girls also have the opportunity to earn Catholic Religious-based awards. Scouting is open to all school-aged parish girls. Email Chrissy Fault (email) for more information.

Youth Ministries

Our Youth Ministry program is for grades 6th to 12th. Youth Ministries meet on scheduled Sunday nights from 5 to 7:30 pm during the school year. There is no cost other than join this ministry. Youth nights are filled with games, prayer, discussion, dinner, and small group time. The program offers discussion about different aspects of our faith leading into small group time for youth so that they can ask questions and dive deeper with the help of our catechists. Along with having youth nights throughout the school year, we also host socials for the youth to have a good time, conversations, and fun! Socials include bowling, sports games, movie nights, holiday parties, and more. We also will host retreats during the year; a get-to-know you retreat and a ski trip of our high school students. Over the summer, we have week-long camps for middle and high school students. We help the youth discover their faith in a fun environment. If you are a freshly graduated 5th grader or someone who has yet to try Youth Group. you are invited to come and see wha you think. With students involved in different hobbies, sports, and various extra-curricular activities, we all still connect over our joined Faith in God. Youth Summer Camps

Youth Summer Camps with LifeTeen are offered in the summary months to Hidden Lake, Covecrest, and Steubenville. These trips offer unique and shared experiences, and the campers come to see just how universal our Catholic faith really is: arriving with a specific group, but coming together as one Church. They arrive at these camps as guests and leave as family. The friendships forged through course challenges, small group time, and prayer experiences offer a unique and unforgettable community that will last for years to come. Family Faith Formation Programs

Queen of the Apostle's Church primary Catechesis program is for all ages! The goal of this family catechesis program is to encourage and equip parents to live and teach their children the Catholic Faith with teaching provided by our church. This program operates with scheduled parish family meetings in between Sunday morning Mass times. This program fulfills the religious education requirements for children in elementary and middle school grades and provides faith formation for the parish members. Sacrament preparation for First Sacraments and Confirmation will remain separate. More information can be found on this page.

Vacation Bible School

Looking for a way to help your children keep busy this summer? For many years, parishioners of all ages have been involved in Vacation Bible School. This week-long program is a great way to allow children (and adults) to spend time together in prayer, music, games, crafts, Bible Studies, and of course dinner, as they learn and celebrate a different Bible story and verse each day. Consider becoming involved - whether you can be a crew leader, helper, planner, or participant! More information on the current year's program can be found on this page.
